I actually ended up enjoying this book more than I expected to. It's a bit ridiculous & unbelievable, but in a silly sort of way. Instead of being annoyed, as I often am by ridiculous stories, I was entertained. It was a rather nice, fast read. Not too deep or anything-- very light, really. Personally, I'd call it a fluffy read. But it was a good fluffy read. And CLEAN! No, it's not Christian fiction, but it definitely is clean. (I checked some reviews before diving in this time.)

Best bits Um. None.

Issues These characters annoyed me. She seems a one-dimensional, nice, forgiving, in-love romantic. He's a one-dimensional, arrogant, teasing, selfish flirt. The only thing that changes in them through the story is that she falls in love early on and stays that way, and he decides he's not anti-marriage after all near the end. There's no depth, no growth, and honestly their relationship seems rather unhealthy. Though it’s a HEA ending, I felt like I couldn't be happy for them, wondering about the issues that will come up and the struggles they will face. A smattering of minor typos, plus the irritating habit of italicizing as "thoughts" random sentences that are no different than the surrounding narration. If it's going to be a thought, it needs to sound like one -- ie, be in first person. Decently edited for writing conventions, not so much on the plot.
Sweet story. I enjoyed it. I would like to see a little more fire in the story but overall it was a pleasant read.
This is a great book! This is the first book I have read by this author and air love it! I can't wait to read more by this author!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone!
This was a cute romantic story. It was clean and a very innocent view of love. The writing was not spectacular and the storyline was very simple and predictable but it was also uncomplicated and just very sweet to read.
I really enjoyed this clean/sweet romance. It's been awhile since I've read a book that I couldn't put down!! Or even one that I've considered giving 5 stars. This is a definite 5 star!!
I am so glad I stayed up and finished this book. The book had everything, jealousy, humor, sleepless nights and a hard headed man denying his love. Would love to catch some of the other characters stories as they unfold. Great job, Ms Matthews.
A romantic comedy worthy a reading. Confirmed bachelor falls for the innocent young woman who works in the historic house he buys . he finds she is everything he dreamed of but thought didn't exist. A very funny romantic comedy. Eqkid@aol.com
