I picked this book up thinking I would read it over the weekend. I could not put it down and finished it on Saturday. After reading "The Detour" I had high expectations beginning my second Travis Pearson book. I was not disappointed at all! I found myself getting caught in emotion with ALL the characters and holding my breath at the very end. The final chapter turned out much different than I had imagined! I have already shared this on all my social media pages for my friends to enjoy.

After creating a super hero Indian in his Trilogy of “The Detour, False Dialogue and Deception”, Travis Pearson has done it again. This time he has created another hero with different super powers to deal with a socialist government that has taken over a country by unscrupulous means. Although this story takes place in an imaginary country, it could very well happen in a number of countries in the world today. This author always seems to be ahead of his time in predicting events that are sometimes too real for the imagination. Like his other books, this book is action packed right from the start. After his new hero discovers how the socialist are controlling the minds of people and making them into zombies, the story only gets better, as this new hero defeats the enemy by using his newly acquired super powers. Pearson has a unique writing style, but what I like about this author is that he doesn’t spend 500 to 600 pages of superfluous detail to tell a story that only requires 300 pages. If you like a fast read, full of action, sprinkled with both a lot of truth and fiction, you will love this book.
A surprisingly entertaining sci-fi thriller with many twists, and turns then builds to an ‘edge of your seat’ conclusion. Poignant and satisfying. An overused expression but this is a must read story with characters that you care about.

I have read Pearson’s other books and enjoyed them, but The Last Defender demonstrates the author’s growth as a storyteller and is his best work. This sci-fi masterpiece is an intense, realistic thriller with multi-dimensional characters, a believable plot and an edge of your seat, exciting conclusion. Satisfying!
I have never read a book quite like this. It grabbed my senses and didn't let go till I finished it.
I was blown away. A great thrilling read . It painted a picture with words of characters you imagine you know and can relate to. The political dynamic in the book is a theme relatable to the times . It even had a dash of science and sci fi . I couldn’t put it down and I’m recommending it to all my friends .
Exciting! This is Pearson's best work! I have read and enjoyed the Dan Icor Trilogy, but The Last Defender is even better. Terrific story telling with vivid imagery and unusual plot, then a breakneck pace to a intense conclusion. As with Pearson's other books, the plot and the storyline are believable and the main characters are likeable people you hope can survive.
